Jackson Hole, Wyoming

At the gateway to Grand Teton Park and Yellowstone Park, Jackson Hole is a high mountain valley, 40 -50 miles long and 4-6 miles wide, covering an area of approximately 400 square miles. This beautiful alpine valley, encompassed by the Snake River and Teton Mountain ranges on the west and the Gros Ventre Mountains on the east, is located in the northwestern corner of Wyoming.  Its elevation ranges between roughly 6,000 feet at its southern end to 6,800 feet at the north end of the valley at Moran.  The Snake River meanders through the center of Jackson Hole and is a world known haven for fly fishermen and river recreationalists.

Much of the magnificent views and wide, open spaces that you see today will forever remain the same, since more than 97 percent of Teton County is permanently protected from development: national parks, forest and public lands, and many ranches and private acreage are protected in conservation easements through land trust organizations such as the Jackson Hole Land Trust. The relatively small portion of private land, less than 3%,  combined with Jackson Hole's increasing appeal as a place to live, keeps the prices high.
